International Women’s Day 2023 – Quality Print Interview

On International Women’s Day, 08/030/2023 the women of Quality Print answered some questions to explain what the day means to them.

ROSEANNA (Accounts) – What does international women’s day mean to you?

International women’s day shows the importance of women in society. What it means to me is the celebration of women’s achievements worldwide. Traditionally, it was a “man’s world” and their achievements were praised whereas women didn’t have the opportunity to present themselves in the same manner. Although it is one day, it shows younger girls and women what you can achieve as the barrier between men and women is slowly being taken down.

SIOBBHAN (Manager)

To me, it’s a way to continue celebrating women, their achievements and strides forward that we’ve made.

GRACE (Marketing Intern) – Do you think there is diversity within Quality Print, why do you think diversity in the workplace is so important?

I think there is diversity in Mallow Printing Works/Quality Print. A diverse workplace is a valuable asset because it recognises each employee’s unique strengths and the potential they bring. Ultimately, valuing others’ differences is what brings us all together and can be the key to a successful, thriving workplace and a fair work culture.

KIARA (Graphic Design)

I feel Quality Print is a very diverse environment to work in. The gender balance is exactly 50-50 and each employee is provided with equal rights and opportunities.

GRACE (Marketing Intern)- What has been the most important advice you have been given as a woman in business?

The most important advice that I’ve been given as a woman in business is to be strong, stand my ground and don’t give up.

ROSEANNA (Accounts- What is the most important message you want to send out to young women thinking about their careers?

Don’t lose your morals. If you feel like something unjust is being done, stand your ground.

LENA (Graphic Designer)

The most important advice that I’ve been given as a woman in business is to never let anyone else speak for you.

LENA (Graphic Designer)- If you could have dinner with 3 inspirational women, Dead or alive, who would they be and why?

Oprah Winfrey, Whitney Houston and Katie Taylor. Oprah, because she is a self made woman who started from nothing and made her way up the ranks. Whitney Houston was an amazing singer with insane talent. I really like her music so therefore i would like to meet her. Finally Katie Taylor. I think she is very inspirational to both men and women in Ireland and around the world. I just find her extremely admirable.

KIARA (Graphic Design)

Adi Roche, ESTÉE LAUDER and Frida Kahlo

Adi Roche because to me she is one of the most inspiring women in Ireland, given her sheer determination to promote positive change and provide help to those in need is reason enough to want to learn from her.

ESTÉE LAUDER because wow what an amazing business women she was and her company is still one of the world’s leading cosmetic brands today. Who wouldn’t want to find out some of her sales & marketing knowledge.

Frida Kahlo because not only is she one of my favourite artists she is an amazing women who did not let her circumstances, hardship or gender stop her from dressing in suits or portraying  her feministic views in her paintings.

SIOBHAN (Manager) – What is the most important message you want to send out to young women thinking about their careers?

Believe in yourself. If you think you can or you think you can’t, both will be right.
